Western Province have secured the services of a star Blitzbok for this year’s Currie Cup.
Netwerk24 reports that Shilton van Wyk will be loaned to WP for the domestic tournament that is set to start in the last weekend of July, with the final reportedly scheduled for 20 September.
The 25-year-old, who last played fifteens for the Boland Kavaliers in 2019, has featured in 27 SVNS Series tournaments since 2021, scoring 52 tries in 136 matches.
This season, Van Wyk crossed the line 15 times in 33 games and also made a big impact on defence with 75 tackles – the most by any player.

WP finished seventh on last year’s eight-team Currie Cup log, with seven defeats from 10 matches.
