Leroy Carter’s solo try headlined a Chiefs comeback in Christchurch on Saturday, transforming a 16-point deficit into a commanding win against the Crusaders.
The visitors won 35-19 despite the Crusaders building an early advantage through tries from Tom Christie, Scott Barrett and Antonio Shalfoon.

Emoni Narawa sparked the revival just before half time before Damian McKenzie crossed the whitewash after the break.Â
Carter’s individual brilliance then gave the Chiefs a lead, with McKenzie’s boot and Wallace Sititi’s late touchdown sealing the result.
Victory propels the Chiefs to the summit of the Super Rugby Pacific standings on 41 points, establishing a four-point buffer over the second-placed Crusaders.
