Bailyn Sullivan and Isikeli Rabitu lit up Saturday’s Super Rugby Pacific round 12 action with match-winning cameos that adds spice to the playoff race.

Winger Sullivan came off the bench to score four second-half tries as the Hurricanes blew away log-leaders Chiefs 35-17 in Wellington.

The Chiefs led 17-9 thanks to a double from Daniel Rona, but the hosts surged back with 26 unanswered points.

The result solidifies the Canes’ top-six status ahead of a bye next week, while Clayton McMillan’s men must regroup for a top-of-the-table clash with the Crusaders in Christchurch.

In Suva, substitute Rabitu snatched a dramatic 36-33 win for the Fijian Drua over the Reds, dotting down in the dying seconds after capitalising on a late error and yellow card.

It was the Fijians’ third win of the season and keeps the slim playoff hopes flickering. They remain at the bottom of the table but have cut the gap to sixth to just seven points. The Reds are fourth on 28 points.

The Drua next host the Blues, who thrashed the Force on Friday, while the Reds travel to face the Waratahs.
