The Stormers and defending champions Glasgow Warriors meet for the sixth time when the teams clash at Scotstoun on Friday night in the Vodacom URC quarter-finals.

John Dobson’s men lost to Franco Smith’s Warriors in Stellenbosch this season, although the Cape tourists have momentum after beating Cardiff – their fourth successive bonus-point win at home – in the last round of the league stages to confirm a fourth straight playoff appearance.

Glasgow went down to Leinster in round 18, but boast a 4-1 record against the Stormers that includes a convincing win in their last-eight meeting in Scotland last term.

Glasgow dashed the Stormers’ semi-final hopes with two late tries at Scotstoun, as former Sharks and Cheetahs bruiser Henco Venter’s decisive score capped a brutal finale to subdue a valiant fight from the Cape side.

Ben Loader’s try from Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s brilliant offload offered a glimmer of hope, but controversial refereeing decisions and missed penalties ultimately ended the Stormers’ playoff ambitions.

The Warriors completed a successful South African tour with their bonus-point victory over an injury-ravaged Stormers outfit at Danie Craven Stadium.
