Almost everyone knows that it costs an arm and a leg to go to law school. In fact, the average law school graduate leaves law school with up to six figures in debt. Some law schools, though, are interested in keeping their graduates out of the poorhouse. To that end, a few law schools have been handing out grants to students that often cover more than half of their tuition costs. But which law schools are the most helpful when it comes to assisting students with their tuition payments?

U.S. News obviously has a ranking for that. That said, feast your eyes upon the top 10 schools that offer the most tuition help (i.e., the law schools with the highest percentage of full-time students who received enough grant money to cover half or more of their tuition and fees). All data discussed here is for the 2025-2026 academic year. Things may have changed for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Case Western Reserve University: Tuition: $65,552 for full-time students / Median grant: $42,500 / 77 percent of grant recipients received grants that covered more than half of their tuition

Pennsylvania State University (Dickinson): Tuition: $60,479 for full-time students / Median grant: $36,000 / 72 percent of grant recipients received grants that covered more than half of their tuition

Temple University (Beasley): Tuition: $34,137 for full-time students in-state; $50,545 for full-time students out-of-state / Median grant: $31,334 / 69 percent of grant recipients received grants that covered more than half of their tuition

Gonzaga University: Tuition: $58,787 for full-time students / Median grant: $32,000 / 64 percent of grant recipients received grants that covered more than half of their tuition

Widener University (Delaware): Tuition: $59,150 for full-time students / Median grant: $32,000 / 63 percent of grant recipients received grants that covered more than half of their tuition

Washington and Lee University: Tuition: $59,940 for full-time students / Median grant: $33,500 / 63 percent of grant recipients received grants that covered more than half of their tuition
