Lukhanyo Am made a successful return from injury in a pre-season match for a Sharks Invitational team against Saracens at Kings Park on Friday.
The English club fought back from 19-5 down early in the second half to claim a 38-26 victory.
Having originally been named on the bench, Am started at 13 without knee strapping and was replaced after a scrappy first 40.
The teams went into the break locked at 5-5 after an early try from Saracens wing Rotimi Segun was cancelled out by Sharks No 11 Jaco Williams.
The hosts struck twice in quick succession upon the resumption, with captain and flank Tino Mavesere’s five-pointer followed by fullback Hakeem Kunene’s interception effort.
PREVIEW: Crunch weekend for Currie Cup contenders
But Saracens hit back with tries from winger Tobias Elliott (two), replacement winger Noah Caluori (two) and fullback Jack Bracken.
With time up, flanker Matt Ramao scored a consolation try for the Sharks.
