French Top 14
Carlu Sadie and Tiaan Jacobs scrummed down for Bordeaux Begles in their 27-12 win against Perpignan at the Stade Aime Giral, while Tristan Tedder started at flyhalf for Perpignan.
Former Stormers and Sharks loose forward Sikhumbuzo Notshe started at No 8 for Montauban in a 54-19 loss to La Rochelle. JT Jackson was in the midfield for Montauban.
Loose forward Arno Botha made an appearance from the bench as Lyon fell to a 35-13 defeat to Montpellier at the GGL Stadium.
Stade Français’ Joe Jonas started at fullback in their 29-24 loss to Castres.
English Premiership
JJ van der Mescht dotted down for the Northampton Saints in a 36-19 win against the Newcastle Red Bulls. However, the former Sharks and Stade Français lock was sent off early in the second half after receiving a second yellow card, for a high tackle. Former Bulls and Sharks fullback Boeta Chamberlain, prop Lhuan de Bruin and ex-Pumas utility back Stefan Coetzee featured for Newcastle, with Coetzee crossing the whitewash for the hosts.
Benhard Janse van Rensburg marshalled the midfield in the Bristol Bears’ 49-34 win against Gloucester. Former Lions and Sharks flank James Venter captained Gloucester and powered over for a try in the final quarter.
Former Bulls flanker Hanro Liebenberg started for the Leicester Tigers as they edged Johann van Graan‘s Bath 22-20 at Welford Road. Springbok prop Thomas du Toit and Franz van Wyk packed down for Bath.

Four South Africans featured for the Sale Sharks in their 65-14 loss to Saracens at the StoneX Stadium. Flanker Ernst van Rhyn captained the Sharks, while lock Hyron Andrews featured in the pack. Outside centre Rob du Preez dotted down, with Marius Louw partnering him in midfield.
Former Stormers hooker Joseph Dweba made his return to the starting XV as the Exeter Chiefs demolished Harlequins 38-0. Stephan Lewies started in the second row, while Tyrone Green was at fullback for Quins.
