Springbok speedster Dillyn Leyds made the difference for La Rochelle as South Africa’s foreign legion impressed in the Top 14.

Janse Roux started in the second row and No 8 Arno Botha came off the bench in Lyon’s heavy 54-21 defeat to Toulon at the Stade Mayol.

Dillyn Leyds dotted down for La Rochelle in a 33-6 win against Racing 92.

Outside centre Jeremy Ward started for Stade Francais in their 29-17 loss to Toulouse.

Three South Africans featured for Montauban in a 49-7 defeat to Bayonne at the Stade Jean-Dauger. Ru-hann Greyling scrummed down at hooker, while JT Jackson started in the midfield. Former Stormers and Sharks loose forward Sikhumbuzo Notshe came off the bench.

Carlu Sadie anchored the pack and Rohan Janse van Rensburg marshalled the midfield for Bordeaux Begles in a 28-26 win against Castres.
