The Lions have appointed a new forwards coach following Barend Pieterse’s decision to join the Junior Boks management team in January.
Former Bok prop Wessel Roux, who has served as the Lions’ Currie Cup forwards coach since 2022, is promoted to the URC team.
Roux joined the Lions in 2016 as a coach, and served as head coach and forwards coach across all junior teams at the union for nearly a decade, playing a pivotal role in the mentorship and development of young tight forwards.
The Lions are eighth on the URC log going into Saturday’s clash with the Sharks at Kings Park.
