The fleet-footed Kurt-Lee Arendse put in another industrious performance on attack and defence and was one of the few shining lights in the Springboks’ 42-24 win over Italy at Loftus.
He was pacy and destructive, beating two defenders but also put in a big shift on defence, making eight tackles.

One of those was denying Italian winger Simone Gesi a try, by tackling him into touch-in-goal late in the second half.
But Arendse’s crowning moment was his beautiful try at the half hour mark.

The Bok speedster is expected to continue his successful partnership with Cheslin Kolbe on the other wing in Saturday’s second Test in Gqeberha. Willie le Roux is rumoured to get a start at fullback for this Test to complete the back three.
