Winger Kurt-Lee Arendse celebrated his return to the Springbok side with two tries and a try-assist in a Man of the Match performance at Wembley on Saturday.
Arendse looked lively and showed no ill-effects from the hamstring injury that had sidelined him since the Boks’ shock loss to the Wallabies at Ellis Park in June.
Despite his strong individual showing in the dominant 61-7 win over Eddie Jones’ Brave Blossoms, Arendse gave credit to the team.

“I think it was a collective effort and just happy with the win. Also thanks to Japan for not making it easy for us, even though the scoreboard says something else. As long as I can contribute, I’m happy.”

Arendse has, however, hinted at a few things the Bok coaching staff won’t be happy with going into the blockbuster match against France in Paris next Saturday.
“It’s a good start for us in the autumn series and we can just build on this. We won’t be happy with some things, but ja, we’ll take it.”
The Springboks have overcome the first hurdle on their five-match tour, and now shift their focus to Paris which is then followed by Tests against Italy, Ireland and Wales.
