The Boland Cavaliers have received a double boost but also suffered two key injury setbacks ahead of Saturday’s Currie Cup semi-final against the Lions at Ellis Park.

Ashlon Davids returns from injury to start at flyhalf, while James Tedder is back at fullback. However, the visitors will be without try-hungry wing Donovan Don (thigh) and powerful loosehead prop Wayrin Losper (shoulder), who have both been ruled out.

Their absence has forced a reshuffle, with Jayden Bantom promoted to the starting XV on the left wing and Mthokozisi Gumede shifting across from tighthead to loosehead prop.

Elsewhere in the backline, veteran Louis Schreuder reclaims the No 9 jersey, swapping places with Chriswill September.

In the pack, Ameer Hendricks replaces Michael Benadie at lock, with the latter moving to the bench, while the fit-again Khwezi Mafu takes over at openside flank from Sauliegh Arendse.

Laurence Victor joins the bench as tighthead cover, and hooker HP van Schoor also returns among the replacements.
