South African wing Kyle Steyn marked his 100th appearance for the Glasgow Warriors with a victory over Edinburgh at Murrayfield.

Having won last week’s Vodacom URC Scottish derby 24-12, coach Franco Smith’s side followed up with a 21-3 win on Saturday to retain the 1872 Cup.

The visitors scored the only try of the first half when scrumhalf Jamie Dobie finished in the corner after flyhalf Adam Hastings’ step and cross-field kick carved open the Edinburgh defence.

Flyhalf Cammy Scott replied with a penalty, but Glasgow took a 7-3 lead into the break.

Even a yellow card to Glasgow flank Angus Fraser midway through the second half failed to spark the hosts into life.

Replacement Glasgow scrumhalf George Horne sniped over from close range to all but end the contest, before Dobie added a classy second try late on, kicking ahead and winning the race to the line.
