Experienced lock Marlyn Williams returns to the Boland starting XV for Saturday’s Currie Cup match against Western Province in Cape Town.
Williams, who captained the Cavaliers earlier in the campaign before being sidelined through injury, takes his place in the second row with Jurie van Vuuren dropping to the bench.
There are also adjustments in the backline, where Chriswill September returns at scrumhalf to partner flyhalf Juan Mostert, with Ashlon Davids still unavailable.
David Brits reclaims the No 13 jersey, pushing Erik Lambrecht to the bench. At fullback, James Tedder misses out after an injury at training, with Domenic Smit taking his spot in the starting XV.
Among the replacements, Jayden Bantom – who joined Boland from Eastern Province after the SA Cup – could make his Currie Cup debut off the bench.
In the front row, Llewellyn Classen takes over as hooker cover from HP van Schoor, Lamla Nunu comes in at loosehead, and Mthokozisi Gumede shifts to tighthead cover.
With Khwezi Mafu sidelined, Van Vuuren provides loose forward depth.
