Rugby Australia has confirmed that the Wallabies will host the world champion Springboks on 27 September.

The Test will take place at the 61,000-capacity Optus Stadium in Perth.

The clash forms part of a blockbuster season for the Boks, who will also feature in the inaugural Nations Championship and the four-Test Greatest Rivalry series against the All Blacks.

The Perth Test is scheduled two weeks after the fourth and final Springbok-All Blacks encounter at the M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, USA.

Rugby Australia confirmed that outgoing Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt will oversee Tests against Ireland, France and Italy before Queensland Reds boss Les Kiss takes charge from August. The Wallabies then face Japan home and away, and Argentina in back-to-back Tests, before the clash against the Springboks.

The Bledisloe Cup series against the All Blacks kicks off at Eden Park in Auckland on 10 October, where the Wallabies have not won since 1986, before the return match in Sydney a week later.
