Springbok centre Lukhanyo Am believes South Africa’s next generation is in safe hands.

He’s praised the Junior Boks on yet another dominant display at the Junior World Championship in Georgia, where they’ll contest the final against France in Tbilisi on Saturday (6:30pm SA time). The defending champions are hoping to become the first Junior Boks team to go back-to-back.

Am, one of the finest decision-makers the Springboks have produced, says what has stood out most is how the Junior Boks know when to back their instincts and when to stick to the game plan.

“We are very fortunate in South Africa to have a pool of talented youngsters. The energy these youngsters are bringing is incredible,” Am told News24.

“They make sure their decision-making is mature enough to ensure they can pull off both.

“When it’s time to bring in X factor, they do it, and when it’s time to be playing with structure, they do it. It’s really beautiful to watch.”
