A former Springbok is among a trio enlisted to advise the Sharks.
Ex-Sharks and Bok wing Stefan Terblanche, ex-Sharks assistant coach Grant Bashford and highly experienced rugby operator Alan Zondagh have been brought in as advisers, adding significant pedigree to the Durban side’s review process.
Zondagh brings heavyweight experience, having previously served as director of rugby at Western Province, the Bulls and Saracens, while Bashford and Terblanche offer strong institutional knowledge and insight into the Sharks’ DNA.

The trio will play a key advisory role, including offering guidance on the management of interim head coach JP Pietersen and potential changes within the Sharks’ coaching and high-performance structures.
“Alan Zondagh, as well as Grant Bashford and Stefan Terblanche, are supporting us in this process. We made a commitment to our supporters, our players and our coaches that we would look at ways to strengthen and improve our high-performance system,” Sharks CEO Shaun Bryans told Netwerk24.
“This is what we have done. Once their work has been completed, we will make further announcements regarding the system and roles within the system,” Bryans said.
On the field, Sharks are showing signs of a resurgence under Pietersen, having just put in a season-defining performance in their 30-19 win over the Stormers in Cape Town.
