While the culture war cancellation of the University of Arkansas’ incoming law dean made headlines this week, it follows substantial turnover among law school leadership in general.
As noted by Law.com (citing the AALS Rosenblatt’s Deans Database), nearly a quarter of U.S. law schools with ABA accreditation had a new dean in 2025. This includes six top-tier schools: Georgetown, Harvard, Northwestern, University of Chicago, University of Michigan, and Yale.
