Vodacom Bulls utility back Sebastian de Klerk has quietly made a strong statement during the Investec Champions Cup pool stage, underlining his attacking threat and Springbok potential.

The Bulls winger, who has also spent time at outside centre, ranks among the competition’s most productive attackers, racking up an impressive 279 running metres across the four pool matches. That tally leaves him just 65m adrift of tournament leader Caden Murley, who tops the charts on 344m for Harlequins.

De Klerk’s numbers reflect the Bulls’ willingness to play with width and ambition, with the 25-year-old consistently finding space and bending defensive lines.

Fellow Bulls back Handre Pollard has also featured prominently in the statistics, finishing the pool stage among the top five conversion kickers with 13 successful attempts.

South Africa will have two teams in the round of 16, with both the Bulls and Stormers progressing from the pool phase. The Pretoria-based side faces a tough trip to Scotstoun to take on the Glasgow Warriors, while the Stormers head to France for a clash against Toulon.
