The Springboks pulverised Ireland at the Aviva Stadium to win in Dublin for the first time since 2012.

The Boks won 24-13 but the scoreline does not come close to reflecting the relentless domination of the world champions in this encounter. Ireland scrum after Ireland scrum disintegrated as the Boks mercilessly piled on the pressure.

In a match dominated by referee Matt Carley’s whistle, Ireland’s indiscipline proved costly. The hosts conceded 16 penalties, a penalty try, and finished with four yellow cards and a red, and at one stage were reduced to 12 players.

The Boks were far from their clinical best and should have won by far more, but there was no denying the sheer physical dominance.
