The Springboks launched their end-of-year tour in emphatic fashion, overpowering Japan 61-7 at Wembley.
The world champions were clinical from the outset against Eddie Jones’ Brave Blossoms, scoring nine tries to underline their physical dominance and attacking intent.
The Boks’ driving maul and set-piece were on full display, with a wilting Japan conceding a penalty try and a yellow card for repeated infringements under pressure.
Flyhalf Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and wing Kurt-Lee Arendse both crossed for braces but the best moment belonged to prop Wilco Louw who scored his first Test try in his 25th appearance.

The match was also another opportunity for hybrid Andre Esterhuizen to get a run on the side of the scrum.
