Pumas coach Jimmy Stonehouse has revealed why plans for him to advise the Sharks failed to materialise.
In October, Stonehouse was linked with an advisory role at the Sharks, with reports suggesting he would assist the Vodacom URC side on a part-time basis while continuing as head coach of the Pumas.
However, those plans were tied to the tenure of John Plumtree, who stepped down as Sharks head coach earlier this month.
With Plumtree no longer in charge and former Springbok winger JP Pietersen appointed as interim coach, Stonehouse confirmed the idea was no longer on the table.

“It sounds to me like the decision came from Plumtree,” Stonehouse told Netwerk24. “Now that he’s no longer involved, it’s out of the question.
“I decided a couple of weeks ago that it wasn’t going to happen because you can’t plan when there’s no clarity.”
