The Lions have fought off advances from the Sharks and Vodacom Bulls to keep a key Springbok in Joburg.
Fullback Quan Horn, previously contracted until June 2026, has extended until June 2028.
The 24-year-old, who has earned 76 caps for the Lions across all competitions since 2022, had been linked with both the Sharks and Bulls after deciding against an overseas move to enhance his Springbok prospects ahead of the 2027 World Cup.
Horn’s decision to remain with the Lions is a major boost for a franchise eager to halt the loss of top talent, and follows the contract extension of flank Ruan Venter.
Both Horn and Venter earned their solitary Springbok cap against Portugal in Bloemfontein last year.
