A Pumas star is set to join the injury-hit Stormers ahead of the new Vodacom URC season.
According to IOL Sport, the Cape side has secured a short-term deal for flyhalf Clinton Swart, who previously turned out for the Vodacom Bulls, Cheetahs and Japan’s Toyota Verblitz.
The 32-year-old will provide vital depth in a position where the Stormers are suddenly stretched.
Jean-Luc du Plessis’ ankle injury against the Boland Cavaliers last weekend has sidelined him for three to four months, which leaves Jurie Matthee as the only fit senior No 10.
Manie Libbok has moved to Japan while Springboks Damian Willemse and Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu are on Springbok duty until December.

While Matthee is set to start at flyhalf in the Stormers’ URC opener against Leinster in Cape Town on 26 September, Swart could make his debut early in the tournament.
