Joe Jonas scored a try for Stade Francais as South Africa’s foreign legion impressed in the opening round of the Top 14.
The fullback starred in their 47-24 win against newly promoted Montauban at the Stade Jean Bouin. Former Sharks centre Jeremy Ward made an impact off the bench for Stade Francais while hooker Ru-Hann Greyling and centre JT Jackson featured for Montauban.
Former Stormers scrumhalf Herschel Jantjies came on as a replacement for Bayonne as they overturned a half-time deficit to defeat Perpignan 26-19. James Hall started at 9 for Perpignan.
Rohan Janse van Rensburg started in midfield for Champions Cup holders Bordeaux Begles as they held firm against a late charge from La Rochelle in Bordeaux. Janse van Rensburg was reinforced by prop Carlu Sadie from the bench, while former Stormers speedster Dillyn Leyds ran out for La Rochelle.
