All Blacks great Dan Carter says flyhalf Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu has what it takes to call the shots for the Springboks at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday.
Feinberg-Mngomezulu on Friday was restored to the starting XV, in place of the injured Handré Pollard, for the second Test of the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry series.
The 24-year-old had a difficult outing at Ellis Park last week, where the Boks lost 33-16 to New Zealand, but Carter backs Feinberg-Mngomezulu to prove he can thrive in the No 10 jersey.

Regarded as one of the greatest flyhalves of all time, Carter highlighted Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s efforts in South Africa’s 43-10 victory against the Kiwis in Wellington last year.
“He’s a rare talent. We all saw last year what he’s capable of,” the 44-year-old was quoted by IOL Sport.
“He can score plenty of points, completely change a game through momentum and his skill set.”
Carter also emphathised with fellow two-time World Cup winner Pollard, who was set to start just his second Test and make only his third outing in the green and gold for 2026.

“I really feel for Handré. He’s been such a stalwart for the Springbok side, patiently sitting on the sideline watching Sacha, and he had his opportunity,” he said.
“Unfortunately, he’s been injured, but he’ll come back. He’ll become stronger. We all know what he’s capable of, and he’s such a steady, reliable player, an absolute world-class player.”
